We have prepared soothing Kabuse tea in tea bags for those of you who are busy.
This is a product that will shock those who think that there are no delicious tea bags.
The tea leaves we use are ”Kabuse-cha” from the Gyokuro cultivar "Gokou", which was born in Kyoto.
There is a theory that the name came from the luster of the tea leaves, which looked like the halo of Buddha.
Gokou's season is so short that it is said to last only half a day, making it a very difficult variety to harvest at the right time.
However, when harvested in season, the tea leaves are shiny and have a rich flavor, as befits its name.
"Kabusecha" refers to tea leaves covered with black net (cheesecloth) for 14 days or more before harvest.
By blocking sunlight with a black net, theanine, which is a flavoring ingredient, is prevented from changing into catechin, which is an astringent ingredient.
This product uses gokou kabusecha, which is covered with a 16-day net.
If you extract it at a low temperature, you can enjoy the strong flavor.
The recommended method is to mix 20 mL of boiling water and 20 mL of cold water to make a total of 40 mL of lukewarm water (40℃) for 10 minutes.
The mellow and rich flavor is just like tea espresso.
The rich flavor of theanine will give you peace of mind and focus when you are busy.
For the second brew, pour boiling water over it like a regular tea bag and enjoy the mild taste with no bitterness at all.
After enjoying the tea, you can enjoy the tea leaves as is.
Enjoy it as a healthy snack by adding soy sauce or salt.
