“Is it possible to produce such delicious matcha without pesticides?”
When I first met this matcha, I was impressed by its taste and aroma.

Matcha A was produced with pesticide-free organic method.
This is the highest grade of matcha ground by stonemill.

In order to produce high quality matcha that has rich umami, it is important to add nutrition appropriately and cultivate a healthy tea field.
Adding fertilizer makes tea leaves softer and tastier, but also makes them more attractive to pests. In the pesticide-free organic method, pesticides cannot be used to exterminate pests, so it is difficult to use enough nutrition.

Pests are more active as it gets warmer.
This matcha A was produced in one of the coldest area in Kyoto, and even if fertilizer is added, it is less likely to be damaged by pests. It's great advantage for making delicious matcha.

What's more, in general tea fields farmers harvest 3 to 4 times a year, but in this field only once a year.
Harvesting only once in June prevents pest damage by allowing the branches to finish maturing in August, when pests are most active.

In the pesticide-free production method, pests cannot be exterminated with pesticides, it's so important to cultivate a healthy tea field.

This matcha broke the mold that organic matcha is bitter and lacks richness.
Please enjoy the precious matcha that is special about not only the taste but also the manufacturing method.
